HONEY BALSAMIC SHEET PAN CHICKEN

Serves 4 to 6 Prep Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

• ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
• 6 tablespoons honey
• 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• ¾ teaspoon dried rosemary
• ½ teaspoon red chili flakes
• ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
• ¼ teaspoon black pepper
• 2 pounds chicken breasts (4 each), trimmed
• 1­½ pounds baby red potatoes, quartered
• 1 pint cherry tomatoes
• 1 pound green beans, trimmed
• DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2. In a medium bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, honey, a tablespoon of olive oil, garlic, thyme, rosemary, chili flakes, salt and pepper. Stir well to mix.
3. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the top. Seal and toss the chicken to evenly coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
4. While the chicken marinates, place the potatoes and cherry tomatoes on a sheet pan. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and stir to coat. Bake for 25 minutes.
5. Remove the sheet pan from the oven and toss the green beans with the potatoes and tomatoes.
6. Remove the marinated chicken breasts from the plastic bag, reserving the remaining marinade in the bag. Place the marinated chicken, evenly spaced, on top of the vegetables. Pour the marinade from the bag over the top of the chicken and vegetables.

There is no amount of money, fame, or power that can satisfy our quest for happiness. No matter how hard we try, we continue to search for happiness in the wrong places. Deep down we know this is true. So, how do we find the happiness we all long for?

Think about all the happy people you know. What do they have in common? All truly happy people have a sense of peace. Happy people are at peace with themselves, with others. They are not living angry, hostile or bitter lives. The good news for us is that we too can experience peace.

The Bible says true happiness can only be reached when we have peace with God. So how do we find peace with God? Jesus came that we may have life – but He doesn’t stop there. He came that we could have life abundantly. This is the true happiness we all long for!

When Jesus laid down His life at the cross, He took on all our sin making us right with God. He gave us a new life, an abundant life – a life transformed by the power of His love and grace. When we really understand what Christ has done for us on the cross, inviting us to a life of peace with God –  happiness will result!

If this is a happiness that you have not experienced, start today. Stop looking for happiness and turning up empty. Accept Christ’s gift of true and lasting peace for all eternity.

The words of our mouth simply reflect the condition of our heart.  Good heart…good words. Bad heart…bad words.  Whether it’s cursing, whether it’s slander, whether it’s gossip, or cruel things we say in anger, whether it’s words of judgment in anger that we make towards other… whatever it may be.  From a bad heart, come bad things that we say.  And Jesus Christ is in the business of transforming hearts.  Our hearts.  Yours and mine.  Is God convicting you today? Let’s give Him the authority over the words that come out of our mouths.
