“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” – Matthew 6:14

Have you ever noticed the presence of that little two-letter word in the Lord’s prayer? It says “And forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.” Did you catch that? The word “as” implies that we cannot be forgiven until we offer that same forgiveness to others. In case we miss the “as,” Jesus makes it very clear in the next verse: “But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:15)

Forgiving someone who has treated you poorly, said evil things about you, even broken up your family, is a very difficult thing to do. It takes Godly intervention to truly offer forgiveness to people who have deeply wounded you. But God commands us to do so, and God would never command us to do anything that He wouldn’t provide the ability to do.

Right now, pray for God to give you the strength to forgive those who have hurt you. Not only will God give you the power to do so, but He will also empower you supernaturally to love them, even though you hate what they did. Remember, bitterness is the poison we swallow, hoping the other person dies. Enjoy the release of this terrible burden by experiencing the cleansing power of forgiveness.

We’re constantly bombarded with bad news on newscast after newscast. It’s depressing. The harsh reality of the daily news challenges those who believe that man is inherently good and the world is getting better.

The Bible tells us the truth. Human beings are not innately good and kind, and society is not progressing toward universal peace and harmony. Why, just the opposite is true! Man’s sin is a constant reality and if we don’t want to believe it, we can just ignore the news and refuse to lock our doors at night.

There is good news, however. God is in control of history and anyone who acknowledges his need for God in Christ holds the key to inner peace and security. For in Christ, whether we live or die, we can’t lose. Christ gives us the key to eternal life and living this life victoriously.

There’s an increasing number of people/employees with flu-like symptoms.

 

Here are prevention measures:

• Employees with influenza-like illness (fever with a cough or sore throat) should stay home and not attend work.
• If you are sick, stay home until you have been fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hours. This is to keep from infecting others and spreading the virus further.
• Employees who appear to have an influenza-like illness at arrival or become ill during the day should be sent home immediately.

 

In addition, please take these everyday steps to protect your health:

• If your are experiencing chills, achiness, nausea or any of these symptoms at all, please do not come to work. During the early stages is when they are the most contagious!
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
• Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

February is the month when you hear about love. Valentines, candies, and flowers are everywhere you turn. Today, February 14, is the day we’ve chosen to celebrate the ones we love.

But what is real love? It’s not lust or an emotion, or merely a sentimental state of mind. There is romantic love, and the love of family and friends. But, the Bible tells us the highest love is not based on feelings, but a commitment of our will. This love is patient and kind. It’s not envious or arrogant or rude. It’s not selfish or easily angered. It doesn’t keep a record of how others have wronged us. It puts up with a lot and endures with hope. It doesn’t run away when the going gets tough.

Real love never stops loving. God IS love – real love. He shows us this love through the life and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. Have faith in Him and you can experience true love. His love will empower you to show real love to others.
