Learn to control your Anger with God’s help

When angry, do not sin: do not ever let your wrath last until the sun goes down.

Ephesians 4:26

Have you recently struggled with fact that you are a Christian who is trying to live a godly life, yet you still feel angry? Many Christians are confused about anger and think that as people who want to be Chistlike, they should never get angry. They wonder why they keep having to deal with anger when its something they dont want to feel.

We need to understand that not all anger is a sin, but some of it is. The Bible speaks of a righteous anger that even God Himself display at times in Scripture (Psalm 7:11NIV)

What’s the difference between apparently innocent emotions that are simply part of life and emotions that are sinful? Unacceptable and sinful anger is that which fills us with bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness and/or motivates us to hurt a fellow human being. When we want to lash out vengefully and inflict pain on others, we are definitely out of God’s will. God says that vengeance is His (Deuteronomy 32:35), and our position is to be one of faith in Him, waiting patiently and lovingly as He works justice in our lives. Controlling the passion of anger, especially an aggressive and outspoken nature, can be one of the more challenging things you will face in life, but controlling it is certainly possible with God’s help.
