Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it”, whenever you turn to the right or to the left. (Isaiah 30:21)
We all need direction and guidance, especially in the face of a new situation. When facing a new challenge or circumstance, the first question to ask yourself is, “Is this God’s will for me?” And the second question is, “Do I have inner peace about this?”
When our hearts are right and our motives are pure, we can trust God to provide everything we need each step of the way and fill us with peace as we move forward.
We follow God by taking one step of obedience at a time. As we take each step and see God working, we know it is safe to take another step. It is not wise to merely follow our personal desires, fears, emotions or good ideas, or the advise of others. In your quiet time with God, ask for His direction. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your steps.
The more you listen for God’s leading and learn to follow Him, the easier it becomes to hear and follow Him.
