Eggs are hard to beat when it comes to
nutritional value and variety for meals and
snacks.
An inexpensive source of protein, a single
egg contains a little bit of almost every
nutrient the body needs and has only 74.4
calories. The American Heart Association
(AHA) guidelines allow an egg a day for
healthy adults.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO ENJOY AN
EGG, INCLUDING
:
Boiled. Easy to eat and great as a snack
to help you feel full and satisfied.
Sunny side up or over easy. Enjoy with a
slice of whole-wheat toast.
Scrambled. Add vegetables such onions,
peppers or chopped tomato.
Folded. Omelets can be filled with almost
anything, like spinach, mushrooms
and a tiny bit of light cheese.
Poached. Simmer gently in water and
hold the hollandaise sauce.
Always store eggs in the refrigerator and
cook them thoroughly
